On Friday, September 9, 2022, Advent Technologies Chairman and CEO Dr. Vasilis Gregoriou addressed an audience at the Southeast Europe Energy Forum 2022 in Thessaloniki, Greece, where he underlined green hydrogen’s vital role in driving forward global decarbonization.

Speaking on the panel,“ Southeast Europe: Green Energy Hub, Hydrogen Supply Corridors and Offshore Wind Power,” Dr. Gregoriou provided an overview of Advent’s recent large-scale accomplishments and discussed how hydrogen can close the energy gap by enhancing environmental protection and ensuring energy self-sufficiency. At the same time, he also discussed Advent’s key role in accelerating the clean energy transformation across Europe via the “Green HiPo” IPCEI Project.

The event was organized by the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and the Hellenic Association for Energy Economics in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Greece, and in strategic partnership with the Atlantic Council and the Global Energy Institute of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

The Southeast Europe Energy Forum 2022 brought together energy influencers from across Southeast Europe, the U.S., and Europe, to present and discuss the latest geopolitical developments, and the prospects of the energy sector in the wider region of Southeast Europe.

The discussion was moderated by Spiros Papaefthimiou (President, HAEE; Professor, Technical University of Crete).
