THE
NEXT-GENERATION
OF FUEL CELL TECHNOLOGY IS COMING
Fuel cells solve the major EV problems (Range and Recharge time), and are ideal for commercial and heavy-duty vehicles.
Advent is developing HT-PEM fuel cell systems (the DIGI-TRONIC family of products) that can use Hydrogen or hydrogen-carrying eFuels.
Systems in the range of 15kW to 100s of kWs are under development, and we are actively working to develop partnerships with Tier1s and OEMs to bring them to the market.
Read how Advent solves EVs’ current problems and incumbent fuel cell PEM systems.
ADVENT
Fuel Cells Complement EV Technology to Solve the Charging and Range Problems
The Net-Zero solution is comprised of:
DIGI-TRONIC Advent Fuel Cell
the HT-PEM Advent patented technology comes in the ideal “skateboard” form to fit into the truck and solve the EV and old fuel cell problems
Hydrogen or Liquid Fuel Tank
supports Any Fuel. Anywhere, operation. Truck/Bus can carry Hydrogen, Low-Grade Hydrogen, e-Fuels like eMethanol (100% green), or Biofuels (up to 85% reduction in CO2, 100% in NOx, Sox.
Use the fuels of tomorrow today.
Design for maximum flexibility to operate under any future infrastructure scenario. The ideal solution for the developing world.
On board fuel reformer
required only if liquid fuel and low-grade hydrogen are used
A Li-ion battery,
significantly smaller in size.
The Advent Fuel Cell solution for Heavy-Duty and Commercial Automotive provides complete flexibility and does not antagonize the current EV roadmap, instead it accelerates it.
The hydrogen (or clean fuel) is converted to electricity by the fuel cell, and that electricity is used to recharge the Li-ion batteries continuously.
KEY ADVANTAGES
Range
A bus can go twice as far as before.
Refill time and flexibility
The vehicle can refill in minutes (hydrogen or methanol tanks) vs. three to eight hours required for recharging. It has both options to recharge or refill based on economics, time-constraints.
Payload
The weight is reduced significantly as half the Li-ion batteries are used (and still double the range). For trucks or any large vehicle, the power-to-weight ratio is one of the most critical factors to reduce the total cost of ownership.
Cost
The additional cost of the fuel cell required is offset by the drop of Li-ion battery requirement (about half the battery size).
Extreme weather & environment operation
The HT-PEM Advent technology operates in the most extreme environments (from -380C to +580C), extreme humidity/dry conditions.
Superior heat management
Advent HT-PEM operates above 100oC, solving the biggest problem of old fuel cells (water management and heat rejection). The promise of a truck that will operate without problems in the Arizona desert in the summer and the Canadian highway in winter.
